14-year-old boy fights for his life after falling from West Park Road Southampton car park
A police probe was launched after a boy suffered life-changing injuries when he fell from a multi-story car park in Southampton.
A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life in critical condition after falling from the West Park Road parking lot on Monday evening.
He was rushed to the large trauma unit at Southampton University Hospital where he remains.
Police say the incident is currently not considered suspicious.
However, investigations are underway into the exact circumstances of what happened.
The parking lot was registered on Monday around 6:45 p.m., witnesses reporting a large police presence in the area.
A spokesperson for the South Central Ambulance Service said: “We received several 999 calls around 6:45 pm last night, all reporting that a person was seen falling from the top of the West Park Road parking lot.
“We sent two ambulances, two rapid response vehicles and an operations commander to the scene.
“The patient was a 14 year old boy who had suffered multiple life-threatening injuries and after the initial treatment at the scene they were then taken to the major trauma unit at Southampton University Hospital.”
