Ayr United signs deal to buy Somerset parking lot

Ayr United’s new fan facility could feature a beer garden, it has been revealed.

Work has started to develop the “Somerset Hub” outside the club’s stadium.

And the bosses are making exciting plans to make the most of the base to move forward.

He comes as they have reached a deal to buy back the club’s parking lot on their property.

United Chairman David Smith told the Ayrshire Post: “I am delighted to acquire the Allanvale Land Investments car park and meeting point.

“The zones were sold over ten years ago in an attempt to keep the club afloat in difficult times.

“We are grateful to the Kirkwood family who stepped up at the club’s hour of need and bought the pitch at that time.

“While the club does not have the funds to make a capital purchase like this, I can facilitate it and having these areas under our control gives us great options in terms of infrastructure and operations for the future.

“They will complement the Somerset Hub and the initial ideas are that we could add a beer garden to the social club, set up a garage to store our field gear, and tidy up the public area as we approach the main booth.”
