Free summer meals for children
The “Meals on the Go” program is back at the Hannibal YMCA, here are all the details you need to know to take advantage of this incredible program.
Hannibal’s YMCA has once again brought back the “Meals on the Go” program, it’s a completely FREE program where children under the age of 18 can receive food for the week. Each child who signs up for Meals on the Go will receive 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, 7 dinners and 7 snacks! You must register for this program each week on the Hannibal YMCA website (CLICK HERE). And each week, you can pick up your box full of weeks meals at the Park United Methodist Church parking lot, right next to the YMCA Hannibal. Step 1 is to register your child, step 2 is to collect this box on Saturday morning at the church between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. It’s that simple, and the only real restriction is that it’s limited to 3 cans of food per week per family.
This Meals on the Go program continues until the end of September and if you do not have internet access to register you can call to register your child, just call 573-221-0586 .
This program may not apply to you, but I’m sure it applies to someone in the Hannibal area that you know. People still struggle to put food on the table, and with a program like this available, there should be no reason for kids to go hungry this summer! So help us spread the word to make sure kids eat this summer when they’re not at school.
