Mineta San Jose International Airport: More parking spaces available
Some parking spaces that once belonged to Mineta San Jose International Airport employees will now belong to travelers.
A reconfiguration of the airport parking lot will take effect on Saturday and will open more parking spaces closer to the two airport terminals, as well as lower price options for lots near the terminals, officials said. ‘airport.
“Our traffic officers told us that the demand for parking has increased over the past six weeks,” said airport spokeswoman Keonnis Taylor. “So we are doing what we can to meet these demands.”
The change will add more than 300 parking spaces for passengers, officials said.
“We want people to think about where they’re going to fly, not where they’re going to park,” Deputy Aviation Director Judy Ross said in a statement.
Passenger traffic at the airport has increased as COVID-19 vaccinations have increased and changes in restriction mandates have come in, Taylor said. The warmer weather has also increased people’s desire to travel again, she said.
Parking rates in lots 2 and 4 will be $ 18 per day, and in lots 3 and 5, they will be $ 24 per day. The airport website has a web page that shows the reconfigured parking lot, as well as the availability of seats.
