A national theater tour begins in Chelmsford on Friday.

The Pantos car park will be the second stop Horrible Stories: Horrible Christmas Shows at Chelmsford City Racecourse on Friday December 17th at 4:30 p.m. and replay at 7 p.m.

The show is the first of 13 performances taking place across the country, including two at IWM Duxford near Cambridge.

The show – which Coalition Presents hosted with the Birmingham Stage Company – is dubbed a Covid Safe Party in the parking lot featuring Victorian villains, Tudor goodies, medieval monks and more.

Birmingham Stage Company director and actor Neal Foster said the event promises to be a “truly unique and festive event”.

Neal said: “We have been amazed and delighted with the total success of the productions over the past 18 months.

“We are delighted to be back on tour with our Horrible christmas production!”

Tours began in 2020 when theaters closed due to Covid-19 lockdowns

Last year’s actors performed in front of more than 17,000 families.

Panto parking lot said adults and kids will be able to jump up and down in their own seats and make as much noise as they want to get into the party spirit.

Organizers said: “When Christmas is threatened by a cheerful man dressed in red, it’s up to a young boy to save Christmas.

“Enjoy the comfort of your own car, wear pajamas if you like, bring blankets, favorite stuffed animals and make yourself comfortable for a big show.”

At the event, audio is monitored by the spectators’ own vehicle radios.

Parking is coordinated so that small cars are parked closer to the front, 4x4s farther back.

At IWM Duxford, the show takes place on Saturday December 18 and Sunday December 19 at 2 p.m. and repeats at 5 p.m. on both days.

Tickets are priced at £ 49.50 for each car and can be purchased online:

The Chelmsford Show is one of many events taking place this Christmas, including a shared Christmas party at the racetrack on weekends.
