Parkopedia and APCOA PARKING Group partner to enable digital parking services of the future

Leading connected vehicle service provider Parkopedia has partnered with APCOA PARKING Group, Europe’s leading parking operator, to deliver the automated and seamless digital parking payments drivers have come to expect from their vehicles.

By leveraging ANPR technology at APCOA car parks in 13 European countries, drivers will be able to seamlessly enter and exit car parks without needing a ticket or having to stop at a pay station. Known as ‘Access and Pay‘, this will parking payments faster, easier and more convenient. Drivers will no longer have to worry about additional resort fees or fines, as the solution makes it possible digital payments for the entire duration of the stay, without requiring any further action on the part of the driver. The platform also accommodates dynamic pricing structurewhich covers different rates depending on parking occupancy, allowing drivers to effortlessly cover the full cost of parking sessionsregardless of price fluctuations.

Integration with the Parkopedia platform modernizes frictionless paymentsand responds to the request of drive trade services, which is currently experiencing strong growth throughout Europe. Deeply integrated into vehicle systems for unparalleled convenience services for drivers, Parkopedia’s easy-to-use single sign-on technology replaces dysfunctional “Bring Your Own Account” market solutions, where drivers previously had to manage multiple accounts and encountered limited service coverage, combined with dangerous external solutions such as “screen mirroring” via smartphones that distract drivers while behind the wheel.

APCOA FLOW, the company’s digital platform payment service, will seamlessly integrate with Parkopedia’s in-car payment platform – which allows drivers to pay for both on- and off-street parkingas well as EV charging, tolls and “at the pump” refueling, all via the vehicle’s infotainment screen. The platform solves the time-consuming and costly task of consolidating a large number of service providers and payment providers for car manufacturers, bringing them together in one integrated solution.

Parkopedia and APCOA have previously collaborated on Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Park Pilot for the S-Class, enabling parking reservations and payments for parked vehicles using Autonomous Valet Parking (AVP) technology.
