The chaos of Drake Circus parking lot as people turned away – Updates
Problems at the parking lot at the Drake Circus shopping center cause delays for shoppers after a sensor stops working, resulting in people being turned away.
Drivers say a parking attendant has now blocked people from entering the parking lot after some motorists walked through the open barrier without taking a ticket.
A driver from Plymouth said: ‘When I walked in he didn’t scan my registration so I had to put it in manually but others were just driving thinking it was free.
“There was a sign saying the motorcycles were free and the barrier was up. When I got out half an hour later, three Drake Circus employees were standing at the barrier and no cars were allowed to enter. “
“There were easily twenty cars lining up outside,” added the driver. “One worker stood in the road in a high resolution jacket stopping cars, then three looking at the barriers!
Another witness said: “The sign says the parking lot is full but it’s not, it’s just there to keep people out while they try to fix the problem.”
Drake Circus has been contacted for more information.
