The renovated car park reopens for the summer

The city council has reopened the improved parking lot at Lac Pertobe.

The parking lot provides more parking and improved access to nearby Lake Pertobe features including barbecues, playground, and seating facilities.

The parking lot was redeveloped with funding of $ 425,000 from the Commonwealth Government’s Local Roads Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI) and $ 75,000 from the Council.

Warrnambool Mayor Cr Richard Ziegeler said the project was completed on time and on budget.

“We have reconstructed and reinforced the parking lot pavement, formalized the parking areas and added pedestrian lanes, creating a safer environment for road users and pedestrians,” said Cr Ziegeler.

“This is a great improvement on Lake Pertobe which is a very valuable feature of Warrnambool for residents and visitors.

“The work was carried out by the local company, Duggan Civil, and we acknowledge the support of the Commonwealth Government in starting the project. “

Wannon MP Dan Tehan visited the project site in May this year and said accelerating priority projects such as Lake Pertobe improvements were supporting jobs, construction businesses and economic growth in Warrnambool, and strengthened the resilience of local road networks.
