Travis Meyer to be the Grand Marshal of the Pioneer Days Parade in Oologah | New
The Oologah Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present the celebration of Pioneer Days. This year, it will be held on Saturday May 29. We chose this date in the hope that those attending the Friday night graduation party can choose to stay and celebrate and reunite with old friends and family. We also hope everyone enjoys the “community” and making new friends!
We thank the Chamber and its volunteers for bringing this exciting event to life with little or no budget. The events will be as follows:
Pioneer Day May 29

• Parade at 10:00 am – Grand Marshall Travis Meyer of Channel 6 News

• 1:00 p.m. Community Tik tok to teach and film. Led BY OTHS Cheer Squad.
• 5:00 pm Stop for vendors and clean up for street dancing.
• From 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Street dancing. Makayla gaylord
* Harbor Coffee and El Gavan will remain open during the event
* The First Baptist Church in Oologah will distribute hot dogs and drinks during the street dancing.
We are delighted to announce that Travis Meyer will be joining us as the Grand Marshall of our parade. It’s been 30 years since tornadoes tore Oologah apart and brought us together as a community to overcome and rebuild. We thought it would be a fitting tribute to our celebration.
We are also happy to have had such a large participation and commitment to our parade. We have community and school groups that will come together to celebrate accomplishments and demonstrate what their club or organization has to offer our community.
The Cheer team will also give our celebration a modern twist with a “community-wide Tik Tok”. We hope our young and old and everyone will come together on the 29th at 1pm to learn a short dance and then film it for Tik Tok, a fun and silly way for generations to collide.
During the day, enjoy food from our featured food trucks, vendors of all ages and trades, and plenty of street games and activities that will include things like face painting, dunk tanks, boardwalk desserts and many more.
Finally, we are more than happy to have been able to find a group for a street dance. You asked, and we were able to deliver thanks to the generous donations of OUR COMMUNITY!
Miss Makayla Gaylord will entertain us with her music and we can’t wait to see your moves on the street dance floor!
Special thanks to Kim Grazier, Dee Meeks and Kevin Hogue for donating funds for this dance and making it possible.
During the dance, First Baptist Oologah will hand out hot dogs and drinks while Harbor Church will keep its cafe open as well as El Gavan for your convenience. Additionally, Mustang Mini Mart has also agreed to stay open for the festivities. Please come and join us on May 29th for your return from the Pioneer Days celebration!
