THIS is the bizarre moment when wild boars corner a woman in a supermarket parking lot and steal her groceries, as she is forced to throw her bags on the ground and run.
The video shows the woman walking away from four adult boars and two young ones.
The images were recorded in the village of Le Rughe, about thirty kilometers from Rome, Telegraph reports.
She can be seen shaking her grocery bags at the beasts, who absolutely don’t seem discouraged.
The six boars are so persistent in their search for food, that they continue to follow the woman, until she is forced to throw her bags on the ground and run in the other direction.
She stops a few yards away, then turns to watch the wild boars destroy her bags, then rushes to the nearby trees, carrying everything they can.
The number of wild boars in Italy poses problems across the country – pigs are estimated to be responsible for around 1,000 road accidents per year.
Their population is believed to number in the millions and numerous incidents in recent years have sparked controversy.
Farmers also report that pigs destroy farmland.
In October last year, animal rights activists expressed outrage after a sow and her six piglets were killed by police at a playground near the Vatican.
