Woman whose body was found hours after the man died in the parking lot is named


A woman found dead at her home in Newport earlier this week has been named by police Kerry Bradford.

The 57-year-old was found at her address on Monnow Way in Bettws on Sunday evening (April 25), hours after officers were called to a parking lot 3 miles from downtown Newport after receiving reports according to which a man had fallen.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is not considered suspicious, although police in Gwent said the incidents were related and investigations were ongoing.

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: “Officers continue to investigate the Bettws neighborhood in Newport after the death of a woman.

Kerry Bradford, 57, was found dead at a Monnow Way address around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday April 25.

“The death is considered suspicious, specialist officers continue to support the family and our thoughts remain with them.

“At this time, we are not looking for anyone else regarding his death, which is linked to another death on Sunday afternoon.

“At around 4:40 pm we also received a call that a man had fallen from the Kingsway parking lot in downtown Newport. The man was confirmed dead at the scene. His death is not considered suspicious.

“We would like to thank the local community for their continued support as officers investigate the area.”
